For the ice dancing category at the World Figure Skating Championships, France has successfully take their golden medals home in Japan.
The duo that made the win is Gabriella Papadakis and Guilaume Cizeron. This is not the first time they receive gold for their performances. In the past, this duo also took 3 other world championship crown. With this fourth success, they have set a new record in the global scale. Their attractive performing style is praised by ice dancing fans from all over the world.
Their performance is highly appreciated with harmonious movements, synchronized spins and absolutely nice lifts. In the end, they finish with 134.23 in free dance. On the other hand, 222.65 is their result altogether.
With the outstanding performance, the duo made this championship their own playground with 10 points more than the second ranked rivals. Before this championship, Papadakis an Cizeron also made a world record in the European Championships this year. The year of 2019 is a return for them when Cizeron had one year unable to join in any competition due to a back injury. Now with a new achievement, they have managed to break their own record and become the new champion of this year.
Said after the performance, Papadakis expressed their feeling when coming back to Saitama after five years for the World Championships. Five years ago, they also had good memories right in Japan’s Saitama. Therefore, this return becomes their memorable experience for them, especially when the duo can now take home gold.
Ranked second after the two is another duo from Russia, Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalapov. And in the third position, it is the Americans Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue.
